Conference on Asian Women's Theology

20-29 November 1987, Singapore

This conference brought together 32 women from 16 countries in Asia and the Pacific region to share their thoughts and hopes.  The method used at the conference aimed at theologising from one's own context.  To make the theology truly contextual, everyone was encouraged to analyse her own national situation, to look at the economic-political, socio-psychological and religio-cultural aspects from a woman's perspective.  The national situation then became the basis for theological reflection.
