Lay women and men and religious sisters, some of whom have read Elisabeth's many books, some of whom are journeying together in a study group on her book 'Wisdom Ways', and some of whom are new to feminist biblical interpretation spent 2 1/2 days learning the skills of Critical Feminist Biblical Interpretation. Elisabeth explained the four paradigms of biblical interpretation and took the participants through the various steps in the dance she calls 'A Critical Feminist Hermeneutics of Liberation'. Women Doing Theology WorkshopsSee report in womenet Vol. 9 No.2, October 2004 Celebrating our Sexuality: 22-24 October 2004, Colombo, Sri Lanka This workshop was organised in response to a request by some AWRC members in Sri Lanka to broach the sensitive issue of sexuality with women who had formed a group called Theology for Community. The participants also included other AWRC members in Sri Lanka. Monica Melanchthon and Yong Ting Jin organised group activities to loosen inhibitions and facilitated bible studies on Sexuality in Biblical Law, Judges 19 and The Song of Songs. Women in the Bible: 19-21 October 2004, Jaffna, Sri Lanka This workshop was organised in response to a special request by Rev Malini Devananda to do bible studies from the feminist perspective with a group of Tamil-speaking churchwomen who have little access to such resources and facilities after having emerged from a 20-year civil war. With the help of 2 translators, Monica Melanchthon and Yong Ting Jin facilitated the bible studies on Matthew 15:21-28, II Samuel 20:14-22, Mary Magdalene and Judges 19. Conference on Asian Women's Theology20-29 November 1987, Singapore This conference brought together 32 women from 16 countries in Asia and the Pacific region to share their thoughts and hopes. The method used at the conference aimed at theologising from one's own context. To make the theology truly contextual, everyone was encouraged to analyse her own national situation, to look at the economic-political, socio-psychological and religio-cultural aspects from a woman's perspective.
